we wait. we don't open the bag and pull out the newly developed pictures until we can all sit down together and pass them around - - observing carefully and commenting appropriately on every print.
we picked up a processed roll of film today and found moment to all sit down together . . . look here for some of my favorites

sounds like a wonderful tradition. we don't have that much patience, my kids are usually looking at them in the cart at costco before we even pay for them!
I know your boys must be sad that Aunt Rachel left, but I must admit that I am very excited. Indeed I am showing great restraint to not call her right now at Noah's. Sighh! I shall even probably restrain myself until Sunday and then hope that I get a chance to see her in the mad crush a people welcoming her home. But, Aha, I have a baby that she wants to see so I will probably be able to make it through the throngs!!
hi Stefanie H! so nice to see you here; I have to admit - - this tradition is also coupled with a tremendous exercise in self discipline for us!
Stephanie T - - yes, we are ALL sad that aunt Rachel left!
