it's tradition . . .

We read the notes written on the inside cover before we read the book; Malachai insists on it - - he knows almost all of them by heart.

so, if you ever send us a book, you must, must, must include a note; it's tradition . . .

What a fun tradition! I love remembering who gave me a book and why? What good books are your boys reading these days? My guess is that that fun looking book is from Gran and Popi (no I couldn't read the words, I just am guessing from the writing and the fact that it is a fun looking book!)

yes, that book IS from Gran and Popi - - Make Way for Ducklings (in Spanish!) - - a favorite around here.

(among several other noteworthy books. . . ) Malachai and I are reading our way through Farmer Boy; he loves it! and I think we will be able to read it again in a couple of years and enjoy it on a whole new level

I thought that was Make Way for Ducklings. My sister and I loved this book so much that my dad made a tape of it so we could listen to it whenever we wanted. We still have the tape somewhere I think. Such a classic!

Never heard of Make Way for ducklings...are we missing something?
It is a good tradition. I used to love reading the notes in the books my parents gave to me. Books are much loved in my family, too. :)
