letters to a mother
dear mom,
we dropped Mercy and Jeremiah off at the airport this afternoon, and got news from the London family that they have arrived safely.
Also, I just thought you might like to know that Mercy was in my kitchen every day - - helping with the cooking before the meals and the clean up after;
I didn't even have to ask her to,
and she was always so cheerful about it!
and every time that Selma would call Miah (ven, ven, ven, she would say, and beckon with her whole hand - - just like the Spaniards do) to play ball in the hallway with her, he would go right away . . .
we like your kids!

we like them too...send them back soon! It must be awfully lonely there, and your kids must be sort of fretful without aunts and uncles to entertain them...we know all about that fretfulness! By the way, Mercy is always super helpful and cheerful in my kitchen too! And Miah babysat the girls the day before they left for Spain and actually played board games with them! Great aunts and uncles...I could go on and on...
hmmm, this is a dear post for me to read. I read it briefly last night as I was waiting to meet someone at a coffee shop (internet cafe, right?) and was pleased to hear the duo made it safely to London. Abi had called in the afternoon asking for contact info since it seems there was snow, delays, and Nathaniel had been waiting for an hour for the siblings. . .happy to hear all is well, and I love the pictures of Miah and Mercy with Selma. thanks for loving them so personally.
Precious! Oh how I miss all of you!
